Han pasado los años y me sigue encantando el concepto de imagen lookbook que hacia con Carlota.

La sencillez de imágenes, el esmero en el casting, el peinado “despeinado”, el dejar hacer al fotógrafo, y por supuesto sus espectaculares diseños.
The simplicity of the images, the care in the casting, the unkempt hairstyles, giving the photographer free rein, and, of course, their spectacular designs.

He colaborado con clientes que vienen al shooting con un mal casting, entonces tienes muy poco margen de maniobra. Los resultados se quedan muy por debajo de lo esperado.
I have worked with clients who come to shootings with a bad casting, allowing you very little room to maneuver or improvise. The results are much worse than expected.
No darle a los modelos la importancia que tienen es un tremendo error. La imagen la dan los modelos. Ellos son los que darán el nivel a tu colección de ropa. El fotógrafo tiene que captar ese momento, tiene que sacar lo mejor de ellos. Pero si no lo dan, nadie puede ponerlo por ellos.
Not according the correct importance to models is a tremendous mistake. The image is portrayed by the models. They are the ones who will sell your clothing collection. The photographer has to capture that moment, has to get the best out of them. But if the model is not able to convey the desired image, nobody can do it for them.
¿Tiene sentido ahorrarte el coste de los modelos cuando tus ventas van a depender de esto?
Is it worth saving on the cost of your models if your sales are going to suffer as a result?
¿Es lógico asumir los costes de un buen fotógrafo y lo que conlleva un shooting, para después no poner los medios y recursos que se necesitan?
Does it make sense to cover the costs of a good photographer and those that a photo shoot will entail, and then not deliver on other key resources?
Si hubiéramos podido aumentar nuestras ventas, ¿dónde está el ahorro entonces?

Las producciones de LABUBE fueron un ejemplo perfecto sobre cómo trabajar la moda infantil de manera impecable cuando el presupuesto no es grandioso. No se necesita más. Incluso para unas fotografías destinadas a una web, cualquier cosa que pongas detrás de los modelos es muy probable que no aporte nada.
The LABUBE production shoots were a perfect example of how to manage a children’s fashion shoot impeccably when working on a limite budget. No more need be dais on the matter. Even for web page photos, any type of background is unlikely to add any value to the actual photo of the model.
El concepto estaba muy claro. Lookbook donde lo importantes es la ropa y la modelo.

Lamentablemente hoy en día abundan los fotógrafos que no saben iluminar. Peor aún, ni siquiera ven cuando esta mal. Parece que la fotografía digital ha bajado el listón a todo y muchos clientes lo consienten.

I disagree with the idea that beauty and the correct way of doing things are subjective. There is a very clear demarcation between what is right and what is wrong, regardless of fashions and trends.

A photographer may use lighting in their pictures with more or less charm, but should never illuminate badly. If they do, then they are not a photographer.
Un profesional sin la formación adecuada es una competencia desleal. Su presupuesto persigue un único fin, conseguir un trabajo a cualquier costa. Tira los precios del mercado y deteriora este de manera irrevocable.
A “professional” without adequate training is unfair competition. Their budgeting pursues a single goal, that of getting the job done at any cost. This drives down market prices and irrevocably damages the profession.
Los verdaderos profesionales, como todos sabemos, hacen las cuentas de otra manera, contando realmente con todos los gastos que hay detrás de una producción.
Real professionals, as is well-known, budget very differently, taking into account and thinking through all expenses that make up an Producion.
Yendo más allá, en el mundo de la moda infantil nos encontramos muchas imágenes echas por amateur. Esto esta bien la primera vez cuando estas empezando y no te queda otra, pero con los años insistir…
